“Fashion changes, but style endures”

Candi Prambanan Coco Chanel

The French are synonymous with haute couture and a la mode fashion.
If like me, you’re partial to a touch of french style, from a breton stripe to a Chanel 2.55, then the Vendee won’t disappoint.

The city of Nantes located less than an hour and a half from Chateau La Foret is home to a shopping experience that rivals Paris.

The gargantuan Atlantis Shopping centre  houses high street favourites, including H & M and Zara, as well as the iconic hypermarche L’ Eclerc, and everything in between. Not only does the Centre Commercial contain 151 shops and 30 restaurants, it also offers a cinema and bowling alley.

If you’re after the finer things in life, and enjoy shopping in a chic and historic environment, then Passage Pomeraye, situated in the heart of Nantes is your go to destination.

The Passage Pomeraye opened in 1843, and represents the luxurious passages found in Paris, and includes boutiques such as L’Occitaine and Le Tanneur.

If you enjoy your shopping punctuated with views of the Atlantic Ocean, then the nearby town of Les Sables d’ Olonne is the ideal retail destination.

It’s easy to spend hours wandering through the grand Victorian seaside town, browsing the boutiques that line the narrow alleyways, as well as the traditional indoor market hall.

After all the shopping, then why not enjoy some refreshments at one of the exclusive bars that overlook La Grande Plage.
